Euruko 2017

Annual European
Ruby conference

Placing Budapest on the Ruby Map by organizing the biggest Ruby Conference to date with a distinct event brand and all the merch goodies necessary way finding being designed in-house.

Challenge

Euruko is the biggest annual event for the Ruby programming community that takes place in different countries every year. In 2017 we won the right to organise EURUKO. We managed to host the largest event ever, hosting more than 600 attendees.

The mission was to create a visual identity for the event that took place in Budapest. We needed a visual system that covers every aspect from the online appearance to way finding, information design.

Solution

Flexible visual language

We created a design system to cover print and digital, working consistently on all media sizes from a pin to a large stage presentation, covering event space wayfinding signage, lanyards and merchandise, so everyone leaves the event with not only nice gifts but a flawless conference experience.

The right information is always in eyesight

We designed a whole proper wayfinding system. As the event hall was situated in a park, away from the main access, finding the right entrance was a challenge. We covered every corner with the necessary information, we even designed an indestructible lanyard notebook for the schedule and supplementary information to reduce workload on the event staff.
